iPad Data Plans - Guide
iPad SIM Cards are Micro SIM Cards that are locally inserted into your iPad to keep your 3G tablet connected to the internet, no matter where you go. The service is provided by the 3G Mobile Network operators, such as 3 Mobile, Vodafone, 02, T-Mobile and Orange. In the same way that a mobile phone stays connected on the 3G network, an iPad Micro SIM card works in the same way, only that the iPad tablet is not voice enabled and therefore the iPad SIM Card acts as a data plan only, allowing you to download data and have internet connectivity wherever you go, similar to a mobile broadband dongle. An iPad Micro SIM Card acts in the sameway as a mobile broadband dongle and will provide you with a certain amount of "data allowance", this is why choosing the right data plan can save you time, money and hassle. Another important factor to consider is the 3G Network operators 3G Signal strength and the Network Internet Access and download speeds. Each Network operator can have a different 3G Signal output and network speed for downloading data. With 4G still around the corner and rumoured to become available in the UK around early 2013, 7.2Mbps is about the highest in 3G standard.
