How long are the iPad SIM Card Contracts for?
Depends on the individual iPad data plan you go for, most of the iPad SIM Card plans are generally 30 day rolling contracts, meaning you can cancel at anytime after the initial 30 day period by giving notice at the end of the period. Our comparison chart makes it easy for you to see the contract terms for each deal we advertise. You will be able to get more details by clicking on one of the data plans buttons to view details and even checkout.
30 day rolling contracts defined?
The idea behind 30 day rolling contracts is that you can cancel after just 30 days if you wish. This gives you great flexibility as you're not tied into a lenghty contract term and may only want to use your iPad on the move during a certain period of time, like whilst away from your "main Wi-Fi hub" like when on business or when traveling accross the country on the move - you never have to worry about being "disconnected" from the 3G network! This is yet another reason why iPad data plans are fast becoming a popular choice as a 3G mobile broadband option as opposed to using expensive Wi-Fi hotspot locations nationwide, which can cost you anywhere from £5.99 for 5 Hours or even 24 hours for £9.99.
What's the best network to go for?
In terms of coverage, both Vodafone and Three are on par, with approximately 97% coverage on their 3G networks, however Three on the other hand have a stronger 3G signal rated at 93% compared to Vodafones 80% on average. In addition, Three are not only an emerging data network, but also are well aligned for the UK Date market and thus have great value packages which out-do the competition by far in this area. Many customers have chosen Three for their iPad Data needs and indeed they have come great offers for 1G and 10GB data on 30 Day Rolling plans which are highly apealing due to they low-cost compared to Vodafone's equivalent in data allowance. I think for these very reasons, Three are by far the winners and the best choice to go for your iPad 3G mobile data needs! :)
What does it mean if it says "Wi-Fi" included?
This simply means that the newtork operator is providing 'Extra' access to your data plan via any local public "Wi-Fi" hot spot, like BT Openzone. This will be a completely seperate allowance to your data plan and will not consume the allowance of your mobile broadband data plan. You will be provided a certain amount of allowance for each - your mobile broadband and your Wi-Fi hotspots. Generally speaking, network operators are providing limited allowances such as up to 2GB or so to accross 2,000,000 hotspots nationwide, in airport lounges, railway stations, coffee shops as these are also 'mini-networks' that the Networks are also operating. So the deal on your iPad data plan maybe '10GB for 3G mobile broadband' and '2GB for Wi Fi hotspots' all inclusive with your plan. You can save money this way also, as you would not be paying to log onto the Wi-Fi hotspot outside of your ipad data plan, which we know can be expensive, in the same way you would pay for internet access via an internet cafe.
